Chevy is a latecomer to the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV party, but it has made some smart moves in the 2025 Equinox EV. It’s a spacious SUV that seats up to six and offers a long-range battery with the option of fast charging. That’s a winning combination in our book.
Chevy’s new EV also has the advantage of being one of the least expensive models on the market. The base LT model is available for just over $27,000 before federal tax credits. That makes it competitive with EVs from competitors such as the Ioniq 5 and EV6. And the Equinox’s 26.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats isn’t far off what rivals offer, either.
Introducing the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV: What to Expect from Chevy’s Newest Electric SUV
I found that the single 220-horsepower electric motor powering the Equinox EV provides plenty of oomph for city driving. It also has a nice level of instant torque for passing on the highway. I wish it could be available with all-wheel drive, though, as that would make for a more confident, enjoyable driving experience.
As with its gas-powered Equinox sibling, the EV’s cabin is modern and comfortable with a large center touchscreen display dominating the instrument cluster. The human-machine interface is logical and straightforward, making the Equinox EV easy to navigate on your own. That’s a welcome change from the overwrought gizmos and screens that can plague some EVs. Visit our dealership at Zimbrick Chevrolet in Madison for more information or to schedule a test drive of the Equinox EV.
